So sis bailed on me for going with me in the morning to the old derelict school due to rain. It would have been a great day to of done it but for that- the holiday making the cop a little slow. Or so I had hoped.

So this afternoon I had time and wanted to go back to the location, take some outside shots if nothing else. And what did I find? A freaking chain over the only road in- held by two new treated posts. Two weeks have gone by since I found the place… How RUUUUUDE!

So I backed up and turned around to see the barking little dog coming toward me from the only house on the short road up to the school. And the nosey neighbor looking at me from the doorway of his home. . I stewed. “So that is how you want to play this? Fine… this is not over.” I even gave him a friendly wave and smile as I left. Asshole. Place had been open for years- reason the windows are busted out, spray paint on the few walls I could see on the main floor.

So… (see how I got a theme going with the So’s? Ha) I drove around the town to try and find another way in, even tho I knew… it sits on a hill, the only way in is either climb the hill, or that road. This place that has been calling to me, on my mind since I first spotted it on that hill, whispering to me to come inside. To stand inside and listen to the faint laughter of children gone by, of lives changed by teacher and fellow students. It stands on that hill looking down onto the town… alone. Worn. Forgotten.

I have to get into it. It is like the fancy shoes you have to have, the book you can’t put down, the song that will not leave your head, the beach that sparkles, the first snow right before dawn, holy water to a christen. I have to get into this place, I just do. *reachs thru the computer to grab your shirt* I HAVE to get into this place, I really really do. Look at my face- I am not kidding on this.

Told ya- this has to happen, even if I have to find the property above the place and walk down that hill.

So I drove home, my little mind racing like a rat in a turning wheel thingy. And I came up with a plan. *pulls out the broken antenna from a old TV, pulls it out to its full length to use as a point, pulling up the drawing she made*

This is the layout-

Looking today from the Main St. up at the school I noticed a few things- such as it is a 4 story building. All the windows have been damaged; the one doorway in the front of the building is open. Easy to get into. The second building is smaller, only the top floor seen by me when I drove up for a view earlier, pre gate date ….assholes… in fact has three more floors you can see from the side. I am thinking kitchen? Or a gym? So this *slaps the X under the school on the drawing* is our goal.

And the problems I face-

The police station is below the school, and the open door of it is easy seen by anyone on the street. The noisy neighbor of the school *hits the drawing right in the groin of the man* and his little dog Toto too. I can see him calling the cops on me if I was to leave my car parked at the gate, or if he sees me going in. Most likely the reason the freaking gate is in place as it is.

So here is my plan:

Travel time is 45 minutes from point A to B. If I get up early, as in like a few hours before the sun comes up, I can drive the curvy road to the town, park on main street, and walk up the road to the school and hold out till the sun comes up to start walking about taking pictures. In a way- I kind of look forward to that time. :)

The chain gate is nothing to get around, it is more there to keep cars out. But the dog… that is the problem. It will send up the alarm. *thinks of the movies where they feed the dog drugged steak that puts them to sleep* Nah… I might kill it by mistake. That would suck.

Or if Cat agrees to help with this mission… if she chooses to accept… (Hums the Mission Impossible song)…then she drives me up to the gate, I jump out, run a little to hide behind some trees as she turns around…leaving the dog to chase her and not me. By the time the man wakes up and looks outside she will be gone, or at least just her tail lights. Parking on Main St. she will still be within range of the walkie- talkies in case I need help. I take my cell phone, on vibrate, just in case.

Then if she sees the police head up the road, she can warn me and I can hide. ( She would so do Madea “ The Popo is gonna be knocking at your door door Rat!” This place is big- I counted 20 windows on each floor of the main school from main street so that is at least 20 rooms a floor if two windows in a class room. Not like they will come in and look if they don’t see any evidence of someone there. Camera bag, tripod, snack, water, some toilet paper (blush) and I can stay for hours, leaving Cat to her new Kindle loaded down with books. And there is things to do in the town… like… ok- that is a lie. They only have one street light, one gas station. But a nice court house. *frowns…paid by people they arrest I am sure*

Now- *holds out her hands* I know …. Lot of work for some pictures- but I have to get into that school. Yes- the roof is collapsed in some places. And the floors between have fallen down. But I am not stupid- I will not risk my life. And no way would anyone make a Meth lab up in this place. Cold weather will keep the homeless out. If I can get up to it… I should be fine.

I could ask the soon to be Mr. Birdy to go in with me, he has offered. But that was when it was an easy drive up, walk into the building gig. Now... now it is a mission that has dangers *points to the building, the police car in front of the police station/jail, the noisy neighbor, and the barking dog* that he might not want to do it. Trespassing is a crime. *sings Bad Boys Bad Boys… what ya going to do? What ya going to do when I come to take a picture of you?* And some work of walking up to the school. Not a bad walk, not too steep…fat chick here, I know I can do.

But the award… the building, the history, the ghost of the past that talk to you with each room, each step upward into the building. To see what is in the darken rooms, to stand and imagine it back in the day when it was in use. I just love places like this- they make me happy.

It is my goal for 2011.

So… *pushes the TV antenna down, takes her drawings down* … that is the plan. With help or without help- I am going in. I feel like this is my Holy Grail, I just can’t walk away from it.

But for now- time to go party some, have a few drinks, and eat way too much.

Wish all a safe night, a cold drink, and a wonderful 2011.

*Got a call from Joli as I wrote this- she is so much fun. Hearing from her and Stabb just ended my year on the right note. Thank you for the laughs you two.

Seems words are read and not understood from me at the end of the year. Joli talked in her Journal about a sore lip. How she was looking like the Hollywood actors who pay to have fat? Injected into their lips to make them full and swollen looking, the new “pout” look.

A member made a comment that someone might of hit her, and you can tell he was joking. I know her hubby, the kind of man he is, talked to him several times. He would never hit a lady and add that he loves his wife… really?

But seems my joke that I tied into the above members one was me calling him a wife beater. What??!

*sigh*

And so the year ends for me on VR.

And people wonder why I don't spend as much time on here as before.

House Eternal has a thread I started about Christmas- talk about past ones, sad ones, etc. I just notice I did not post in my own thread. :D Been busy it seems... so here is what I posted, wanted to put it here when I reread my month at the end of the year, or next year at the same time.

I remember two Christmas morning really well. My dad always wore a hat. Most likely a ball cap that came from a truck parts store or a auto or building company locally owned. But when he went out to something nice he would wear a mans dress hat. That was his gifts one year.

We all gather early as I was usally the one who woke up at the butt crack of dawn that morning and screamed for everyone to get up- Santa came. :)

When the family moved into the kitchen to start the country ham and eggs we had each Christmas morning I was left t o clean up the wrapping paper. I did. Throwing dad's hat away also. He left it in the box, I did not notice and out in the trash it went.

A few days later dad was going to a funeral and wanted his hat. 0.o Yes - the trash truck had already run.

LOL- Dad kept his gifts beside him every Christmas since then, taking them to their room right after we finished opening them. It became a running joke to put your gifts away or I would trash them. lol Care to guess what he got that next year for Christmas from me? Yeap- a nice hat.

Dang- that brings a smile to my face.

Then as we grew older we didn't exchange gifts. We would just all get together, cook the meal, and enjoy the time. One year I decided to play secret Santa. I got gifts for each of us- and I mean I took the year to pick these out. Specail gifts. And I got myself something I knew I would love- I collect teddy bears. But they have to be special ones. I gave myself a teaddy bear that was in the shape of a snowman, his furry face the only "teddy" part of him.

So I wrap the gifts, I put them in a trash bag and tied it with a big bow. I got up at 4:00 am and walked it down to the house, leaving it on the back porch steps as I knew dad would find it as he let the dog out the morning.

I got a call at 7:00 am, saying Santa has come, come quick. :D I played it cool, I Uuuu and AHHHHHed on the gifts, I felt my heart just sing in joy at the looks on their faces as we all tried to name the Santa who drop off the gifts. It was driving us all mad, but in a great way. We was thinking of cousins, aunts, uncles as we all swore we did not do it. ;)

Then my oldest sister, who I swear is more a asshole then anyone I meet, "hints" that it was her. --.-- I let it go as I did not do this to be known and let her get all the hugs. It was only weeks later that it was getting on my nerves so much that I told my two other sisters (Twins) that I had done it. They both cussed and said they knew Kim had not done it, she was too self centered to of done something so kind. I never told Mom and Dad but I knew they also knew it really had not been Kim.

She kind of ruined it for me with her actions but still... the look on their faces that morning was priceless and I will always remember those smiles.

There have been several people on this site I have meet, and many more I wish to meet. Morrigon has always been one of those people I had to meet. Since the day I walked into House Eternal door she has made me laugh, made me smile, and even cry with her words. She reintroduced me to a lost love of mine, known as photograph.

I always think of a little bird, stepping out on the limb for the first flight when I read her words, watch her grow as a person in her journal over these years. But she also showed me that I can be that little bird, being watched over by her, as I take my first steps out into the world of the unknown.

A friendship of sorts, in my mind at least.

While we might not talk most days- I know she is there if I need help, an ear to listen, answer to a question. I always thought of her as a person I could depend on.

But I also know I have to meet a person to get a final “feel” to them. As I said- she is a person I HAD to meet.

A few days ago she sent me a message asking if I would like a visit, a stop over on her way home from the holiday.

It made my year. Really- I could not sleep last night I was so nervous over finally meeting her. What do we talk about? What if I so something stupid? What if she doesn’t like me? What if we just sit there… saying nothing? Two people, who say they are shy, don’t blend well with others. What if we are that way in person, with each other?

She just left after staying three hours. And I can’t speak for her but it was like a lost sister came home. Few minutes of getting use to each other but then the energy just fit together right.

If you ever wonder what kind of person she is- she is just like she is here on the site. Funny, beautiful, and a little quirky. Loveable so. She is just what I knew she would be.

Thank you Otter. For being what I knew you would be to me.

A true friend.

Now…if only I could of gotten you to leave Pai with me. ;)

Cat said last night before she left that I was a good girl, not going into the old school I found yesterday. She knows how much I love these places, and I really really been wanting to get back to my photos.

As I said "Santa so owes me for being that good"

And he does.... It was killing me not to step into that dark, wet forgotten school, walk up those stairs and hear the whispers of the past within those walls.

Could not sleep last night thinking about that place.

Soon.... first up tho is a picture taking session with Birdy and ... ok- he has to get a nickname or I have to use his name. Anyway- the man who put the ring on her finger yesterday. :) Soon to be Mr. Birdy.

So Santa- remember I was a good girl not going into that school. Really it was my promise to Birdy and Cat but don't tell Santa that. ;)

Lunar eclipse makes me wonder what humans’ thoughts where back before science took the mystery away. Cavemen- end of the world event? Celtics- sign of the gods? Did King Tut look upon the red moon and see his death?

And what of the lone commoner in England during the time of King and knights? Did he or she see it as a change in life? How many virgins and animals were killed to bring back the moon, to please the gods?

What would you think, not knowing what you do today, looking up at the night sky and seeing this? Think what a meteor shower would have been like.

Me? I would hope that I would see it as gods way of showing he/she is there, watching over us. It is easy to say that but if I lived in that time, I don’t know how I would have seen it.

Something to think on.

I had a similar thought myself as I watched it. Imagine, a 1000 years ago people saw that and thought it was the end of the world...

It was ocercast that night but cleared just in time for us to see the transition to full eclipse from 2:20 to around 2:50 and then the clouds returned covering it and we went to bed.

It was amazing.

Ok- if you know me at all, and read some of my journal, you will know that I have a older sister which whom has walked away from the family.

She is a user, only talked to you when she wanted something, sweet and kind to everyone but her family. She can scream at you one second and if someone comes in, treat you like a angel to 'show' what she wants people to see her as.

Long long story there- trust me. And I don't wish to get into it.

But I have to say it is funny that she is adding people from my Facebook, even asking Cat's sister. She knows we are friends and I guess she knew the name as we have been friends for 32 year? God- she is getting so old. ;)

Yes- she asked to be my friend and I just deleted it.

Tonight I log in to see her husband requested to be my friend. Really??? A man I have meet 4 times? One of those at the funeral?

I mean- it is not like I put stuff on my Facebook. Just my pictures really to share with those who want to see them, and I don't want them here on VR which is the only other place I post them.

That is it. I log in maybe once a week.

But I just don't want her to see anything, parts of my life. If she cared she visit, call even I might feel different. It has been over two years since Dad pasted away and she has been home to visit twice since. Before he passed away it had been almost ten years. Mom went into the hospital, Turkey Day came and went and nothing from her. She wants nothing to do with us unless she can nose into our lifes, bitch about what we do.

I will delete my Facebook before that bitch gets on my friends list- so stop trying.

So I posted one of my pictures I took during the snow storm last week and got this answer from a member on another site.

Actually, that's a meteorological event called hoarfrost. Basically frozen fog forms those crystals on solid objects. I only saw it for a brief 15 minutes last winter while on a roadtrip to Iowa so I think it's pretty rare everywhere.

O.o

I felt all eyes on me to answer so I posted-

It was all along that little creek bed, all the little plants and trees. Just thinking it was pretty.

*sigh* How stupid did that sound?

This is the reason I don't go into forums much. I mean.... this site is full of smart people-Dr., Nurses, weathermen, builders, Lawyers. I have nothing in common with most people. Same on this site too.

I mean....if the talk ever turned around to moving a baby grand piano... sure I can hold my own on that kind of subject. But do you ever see it happening? Hell no.

Now you know why I stay away from webcams, threads, chats.

Last two days I have not cooked. I ate some frozen meals I had made before, and ice cream. After spending yesterday cleaning out the pantry and kitchen cabinets, I woke up this morning telling myself I was going to cook, damn it.

Something I have not made before. Chinese has always been one I wanted to try and found a recipe in, of all place, the Harlan County Homemakers book. This is the cookbook I was gifted? purchase a few years ago from Birdy's Mom.

Chinese Pepper Steak. Yummy-freaking-ish that was good. And I have enough for dinner later.

“Sir- we will have to reschedule your move for next week. How about Thursday?”

“WHY? It is fine here.”

Here is a town 40 miles south… so I can almost take it to be true. But then… why is the school canceled there?

“When you booked your move Monday you was told weather permitting. The cold is going to break this weekend so I will need to move your job back to my first free day.”

“Why can’t you move me Monday?”

“Because I have other people booked. Our company policy is to cancel the one, not change the whole schedule and make everyone mad. You are welcome to get another mover, there is three in the area if you can’t or don’t wish to wait.”

“The other ones would not even book me this week.”

Gosh… and now he is getting pissy?

“With good reason. Sorry but I can’t send men out to do your job if they are unable to get to work.”

“Why not? It can’t be that bad.”

“Bad enough I am not risking lives or my trucks for.”

“You can’t pay that much for insurance or for those trucks. I need moved!”

“I bet I pay a lot more for insurance then you do Sir, and those trucks with equipment cost around $90,000.00. And for some reason I don’t think your small $260.00 move is worth risking it for.”

*Phone slams in my ear*

Okkkk then. I will call him Monday and see if he is moving or not with us.

Then DHL called and wanted me to do a pickup at 11:45 pm in a town 70 miles away. They want it delivered at 2:00 am back in my town. One little issue here tho- the town is across the time zone so I will be picking up at 12:45 am my time, to rush back in a hour and 15 minutes- in the cold, snow, ice over 70 miles to meet the 2:00 am time. It is sleeting here with the tempt going back into the 20’s. I asked for the delivery to be put off till morning, that way I can take my time getting back. While Sis was making that call to ask Mom asked what we were doing. Seems Sis called back to turn the job down all together.

Not that I am afraid of the road- but these kind of trip in this weather we always went in pairs. Dad and I did them. First one I would have done alone. And it seems I am not going to do another.

I miss my Dad. I miss him getting out in the snow just so he could say he did it. I miss him telling me to leave some water running so it would not freeze. I miss hearing that little VW diesel motor putting around the warehouse. I miss him being bored within a few hours of sitting at home and driving Mom crazy. I miss how he would help people who needed a ride to the store, or to the Dr. in the snow. How he would be the person to come to when your battery needed a boost off.

Then we have the story Mom always loved to tell and bring up. Seems it was a bad snow storm and Dad was damn and determined to go on a military pack job. The Base told him to stay home, heck even the customer said he was fine with a few days wait. But not my Dad. That and he had a new toy in the form of a 1980 Ford truck that had rear end traction. We still have the truck to this day. And it still has the bent chrome bumper, right in the center where he hit the utility pole at the bottom of our hill as he could not stop. LOL Lucky he was alone when he hit the pole, on the way to pick up a work hand that could not get into work from the snow. Mom sure wouldn’t let any of her kids in that truck.

Mom just had to say “Remember the utility pole?” when he would start up on “Let’s get out and do the jobs.” He would just hush, us kids thinking it was magic. LOL

*smiles*

It is good to remember Dad. I need to do this more often, talk about him some. Brings tears and a smile. Joli is right about that.

Been reading a thread on a Make Up site about beauty items. Question is:

What are your top five beauty care/ skin care products?

Reading a few of the answers made me see that not one person gave the answer of what I use. I am taking it because they are younger woman, maybe the cost of what I use a big draw back. But I have used some they gave, and know that the product I use would come out at the same cost if you take into account how much you use of each. The product I use just takes a little, it really does go a long way.

I did not answer the question as some of the people on the site as assholes and I did not want the whole “Wow- who the hell can effort that shit?” thrown up at me. (You say one little thing about how photoshop the makeup pictures are and you get black balled. Hell- it is a Make Up site, not a photo edit site.)

So I was thinking I would put it here since it is on my mind, and it is on QVC right now. I am watching, not buying...thank you. :P

My skin care has been the same product for over ten years now. Philosophy.

1- Philosophy super-size purity made simple, 32 oz for $46.00. This is the cleaner for your face and this bottle last me a year, if not a year and a half. And I mean this gets the goop off. LOVE it. Only thing is when I use a liquid liner- I have to use a cheap drug store oily eye cleaner to remove it, then this to get that oily residue off. BEST CLEANER! And great for any age.

2- Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer. I buy the huge 8oz jar that is $105.00. Before you faint about that understand this last me two years easy. They have other moisturizers for anti- aging and I will try that one. It has been out three year but I am using up this jar. Really- it last that long. Sitting her watching the show on QVC and they use way too much when they show it. Just a dap does your whole face and neck.

3- Philosophy eye cream. At my age it is something I have started to use a few years now. I use the .45 oz for $55.00. This last me about 8 months, to a year.

4- Philosophy microdelivery peel foil 4 pack. Love this peel. Cost is $26.00 and I try to use it once a week. So that is $7.00 each, and trust me when I say it is like a salon spa treatment. But a hell of a lot less. You skin feels like a baby’s butt when you are done.

Now I do love a drug store scrub called St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I use it with a cheap electric toothbrush. Wet your face, apply the scrub, and use the toothbrush to work it in. Really a cheap answer to the spa’s facial treatments.

5- Philosophy 60ct. retinol capsules. Seems you can’t buy these on their own right now, priced in with Hope In a Jar moisturizer. Even then it is a little over a dollar each for both the capsules and moisturizer. I use these about four times a month, just breaking the little pill and adding it to my moisturizer. Helps to firm up and with the wrinkles and lines for me. I also make sure to spread it onto my neck. And never waste- if you have any left on your hands use it as hand lotion. This is one I should be using more as I age.

All of these products don’t leave a grease feel, the scent is none if any of a soft scent. Just he best product I have found for my skin. Yes- I know they cost a lot. But they are so worth it, and really by the time you buy a drug store item three or four times in a year- they are not that much more. They do sell 'try me' kits that you can try, a first step into this company. And you can find it on sale. On one site it is 20% off till the end of the year.

I should do my body ones… top 5 body items. Hmmm… maybe. Right now I am going to go do a scrub, use what I just wrote about.

:)

I might add the top five foundations- I would love to know what would work best for me-

You have seen my skin- want to even out everything, not cover up my freckles.. :)

And I adore the apricot scrub- I use the firming kind, and I love it. And yes, I use a night cream, and an under eye cream. ALWAYS before makeup- usually right out of the shower.

I NEVER scrimp when it comes to my facial care products or make-up, I have to confess that I have never used Philosophy but I do use StriVectin-SD eye cream which is about $40 for 1.3 oz. I use Lancome bi-facial for a make-up remover. I'll have to check some of your listed products out..

Watching the weather reports and it seems our State has a small area where the snow will be less then a inch, not the three or four the nothern, eastern and even the western part of the state is getting. More the center southern part along I-75. Something to do with a updraft of warmer air or something that is keeping the snow to the east of us. Damn south- keep your freaking air to yourself.

Anyway...Care to guess where the hell I live in the state?

You would think this time of the year the Post Office would be ready for the traffic, busiest time of the year I would think next to Tax Day. Standing there this morning, 6th on line with 32 others behind me, I glanced at the three empty stations as the one lady worked her butt off trying to handle it alone. At 8:35am on a Saturday – ten days before Christmas… and no help.

People started to leave, hearing talk of UPS, FedEx that had offices open in two or three places in town. Office depot, right down the road, has a one of them.

Sooooo… if I read yet again how bad the Post Office is bleeding money out of the ass due to lack of customers… I will remember standing there for 45 minutes to mail a box for Mom.

My post office can't be bothered to put a package in the locked mailbox. Instead they threw it onto the front porch (against federal law). They insist that it was delivered, even though nobody rang the bell and it wasn't put in my hot little hands. So, through the post office, I have already lost one package and another package I am told will be here, somewhere between 3 and 21 days. It sucks.

Not working on these pictures as they aren't good enough to keep. But this is the place I did the pick up last night, able to snap a few pictures as I waited.

And where I took the part to. Yes- it was 3:00 am and I was leaving the plant. This is only one side of the place, just the parked trains. On the other side of this bridge, which I could not get a good shot of, was all the buildings, and more trains. This place covered a good 20 miles. :) No wonder I was so lost by the time I was ready to leave.

But still caught these old buildings I soooo wanted to go into for pictures. All the lights behind these is the train plant, as these old empty buildings border the land. But I stayed in the car, did not go into the buildings. Trust me- I am not stupid. ;) That and I promised Birdy and Cat I would not go into a building without them with me. But I could see us going back. *wink wink*

*Note the roof with the vents right at road level? That is a 3 story building. So that gives you a idea how tall these things where. LOVED!

This one has a For Sale sign on it so... wonder if they would let me in? Hmmm. If not- I say there is a way in easy enough. I could see huge columes holding up the ceiling thru the broken windows. I would loved to went into this place.

Now after working till 5:00pm with the repairs, good dinner, warm house, soft couch... I am going to bed.

Guess I missed the golf game and drinks at the club Birra. :)

Last night I went to bed around 9:00, reading a article on the unemployment 13 months add on the President is trying to get past, and where the money is coming from to pay it. Got a little sleepy but stayed up to watch a show that came on at 10:00, going to sleep at 11:00.

Phone rings and it is my sister. Of course I think something is wrong and it took her telling me twice that DHL was calling and needed a pickup at the CSX station in the town past us (They have a large repair place there- the biggest business in that town) and take it to Cincinnati, Ohio.

And they need it ASAP. Seems it is a part that was in a bed needing. A whole 5 lbs worth. "What time is it?" Thinking I had been sleeping for hours... 11:25 pm.

--.--

So I think of what I have to do today- the last of the repairs to a apartment and House that I put off due to me being sick. Then the repair guy was on another job...is to be here at 8:00 am.

I knew I had to keep that as is.

"If you don't want to do it I will tell them I can't find a driver." Well fuck... you know? They don't use us unless they can't find a driver. I tell her to take it, I would be down in the office to pull the directions in a few.

So I speed off to pick the part up. Only to stand around for 20 mins as the only men I found tried to find the parts guy. But I did get a cool ass tour of the engine in the one they was working on. :) Seems they are very slack on the rules about where you can go into around that time of the morning. lol

Then it was the 180 mile drive. Can't help it- I love driving when the roads are next to empty. I hate Cincinnati, heavy traffic areas, during rush hour.. but hit then around 3:00 am... love. The city lights are wonderful. Just made me want to take pictures tho. But... part was the first thing.

So I go onto the CSX place in Ohio, the place is like five times the size of the one I came from. No railroad police to stop me, no security to keep me from driving all around the place. I found one place (building) that had a cleaning crew in it and a man tells me "Go down to the tunnel, take a right, etc... it is about 5 miles down."

My eyes sparkled- tunnel? 5 miles of tracks and trains? OH freaking yes that is cool. So I got lost, but finally found the largest building that was the repair shop. Part drop off. Going out a different way I spotted three old buildings I would love to go back and take pictures.

Home at 6:30 am, slept a hour and back at work.

Pretty certain the cord wouldn't reach the kitchen to do cooking... and pretty certain I'd rather go buy cookies than sit and watch someone make them.

Same reason I was going to watch him is why I watch cook shows on TV- to learn. But with him... I can ask questions.

Wind chill is taking it below 0 tonight, and temp is 7.

The next 8 days are going to be COLD.

Well shit on that. If I have to deal with the cold then I want some freaking snow with it.

Raise hands over head, about three feet apart.

Wiggle fingers menacingly

Look up at the sky and yell:

BOOGAH BOOGAH

You know... I still have my fall decorations up. Still got the fall leaf vine on the tree with orange lights. Still have my Fall witch on the table with the large glass pumpkin beside it. The pumpkins scented candles are still about the house, as well as the orange, tan and brown throw pillows on the green couch/ loveseat.

o.o

And how many more days till Yule?

*sniff, cough, hack*

ditto- I have barely had time to get shopping for presents done (although I did get alot of help from Scott) much less try to decorate. I told Scott I wanted lights up outside, but I just didn't have the time myself (hint hint much there?)

I still have to get a tree, and find a flaming dress for the Christmas party...ugh...

Why does receiving a message from a stranger on here of “Hey. How are you doing darling?” make me feel like I am sitting at a poorly lit bar, drinking alone, almost falling off the bar stool?

O.o

*hits delete*

Guess that is why I am called a snobby bitch.

as long as I get to sit too, drink heavily, and flirt with the bartender, I'll call you whatever you want.

I just can't get over the people who think it is ok to do that- it's like showing up for a job interview in torn jeans and a t-shirt- first impressions much?

Truck drivers like the one who just left makes me glad I do my job.

Let's see...

He helped me open the big doors.

He helped me put the battery charger on the forklift.

He tried to help me change the fuel tank when it ran out right after I got the last crate off his truck. I told him to go on, I can handle it...but he refused to leave me. :)

Then helped me close up the warehouse.

Got to love a driver who helps. Of course I look like shit, coughed, blowing my nose and hacked all over him as we was trying to get the crates unloaded.

Really nice guy. :)

I see a call to his company to say so.

If it is one thing I appreciate even more than a good tip, it's someone telling my supervisor or boss "She is a great bartender, she did a really good job".

Nothing is a good as that feels.

Read some news I did not want to hear. Losing your father is ..... you just don't know that pain unless you have lost your own.

Time to light another candle, this time for the family.

Sleeping till 1:00 pm, total of 15 hours, makes for a much better feeling Rat.

:)

Now for a day of laying on the couch, resting.

Got to give it to my sister and brother. While I spent the last 4 days out in the cold, rain, snow days doing jobs that had to be done- they would have me a hot meal packed and ready for me to go home with when I got home. At the most I just had to warm them up.

Got to love those who care for you when you can't take care of yourself.

I will have to pay them back with something special when I am all healed.

*Rat wipes the steam off the medicine cabinet, fresh out of a HOT shower, sucking on her little box of OJ straw*

Ohh… there you are. I was wondering where you was. Been a while since I have seen you old faithful foe. I felt you coming though, all day long, that little itch around my lips warned me.

I was thinking… maybe it is just the cold wind that you stood in all day? Maybe it is because you wore a scarf to cover the lower part of you face as snow blew about?

*Rat leans in and points to her bottom lip*

But NNNoooooo! I see you now. And I have two things to say to you. One-

*Rat sucks the rest of the OJ down and opens the medicine cabinet to pull out her cold sore medicine, smearing on the tender spot, then on the rest of her chapped lips.*

I am sure you will bring others to visit- I never just get one. So bring it on… because tonight... I will not give a shit.

*Rat uncaps the NyQuil Night meds and drinks a good dose, making a really ugly face as she hates cherry favor.*

Sooo… see you in the morning, when you are swollen, puss filled and nasty. We will spend the day outside in the cold together; sure by the time the day is over we will have at least two or three. It’s a freaking party! Woo Hoo!

*Rat turns off the light to head to bed, but turns it back on and leans in to look at the mirror again*

Oh yeah- I forgot the second thing I wanted to tell ya.

*Rat flips the cold sore off, turns off the light, and heads toward her bed*
